Performing Arts BTEC National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts at Sandwich Technology School
This course offers a comprehensive introduction and exploration of performance and musical theatre in the form of practical workshops and skills development. You will regularly have the opportunity to work on productions, student devised work or showcases.
This is a practical, work-related course, requiring imagination, sensitivity and the ability to get on well with others. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
There is a coursework element, including logbook, interviews, research and publicity, plus external practical and written assessment.
At least 5 GCSE passes at a minimum of grade 4 and preferably an Arts subject.
What can I do after the course?
It is normal for students to progress from there on to Higher Education degrees in Drama, Performing Arts or Teaching. This course can also offer direct routes into employment within the performance industry.
