Professional Cookery Apprenticeship Advanced Level at Guildford College

Course description

This apprenticeship is aimed at those who have been working in the hospitality industry. A great next step if you want to develop your knowledge and skills, perhaps moving into a management role within the sector.

Course content

Pathways include:

  • Professional Cookery
  • Patisserie and Confectionary

Entry requirements

You must be working in a professional cookery role and be interested in developing your skills. Alternatively, we have a number of vacancies each week and are able to help you find an employer.

Advanced apprentices must have two to four GCSEs at grade A* - D, including Maths and English.

 

Assessment

You will be observed and assessed in the workplace.

Regular review meetings will take place with you, your assessor and employer to support the achievement of the qualification.

Evidence in the form of photographs, videos, witness statements, assignments etc. are uploaded on to an electronic e-portfolio which can be accessed by the Assessor to monitor progress.

Assessment for functional skills will take the form of written and on-line tests.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto a Higher Apprenticeship or Degree Level programme. Alternatively you may choose to pursue a career in catering.
