Die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands: communism in East Germany, escaping to the West, work and life.
Grade 6 in German or similar language competence.
Paper 1 - Listening, reading and translation - 40%.
Paper 2 - Written response to works and translation - 30%. This paper draws on the study of either two works of German literature or one work of literature and one film.
Paper 3 - Speaking (internally conducted) - 30%.
International trade, working for the EU, travel and tourism, education, the Civil Service, MI5 and MI6, the fashion industry, the Diplomatic Service.

Anything! Languages can be studied alongside any other subject, in Sixth Form and at University level. Learning languages helps to increase employment and travel opportunities.
Extra/Super curricular activities
The World Languages Faculty runs trips and exchanges for Sixth Form students to France, Germany and Spain. There is also local university input, in the form of seminars and study visits.
The opportunity to complete work experience abroad is available, and looks very good on university and employment application forms.
