Course description

The AQA A Level Psychology is a science concerned with the study of the mind and behaviour.

A qualification in psychology can take you into university for further study and a wide variety of different careers.

You will use and develop your communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving and independent research.

Option 3
Aggression, Forensic Psychology, Addiction             

When studying Psychology students are expected to take an active role and     responsibility for their learning. The course requires independent study around the topic areas and this can take any form, book, journals, podcasts and YouTube. Students are required to attend all lessons offered to them alongside homework being completed to ensure that the fairest grade can be given for their work.




Entry requirements

Minimum of B grade in either triple science or double science, 6/7 grade English and 6/7 grade in Mathematics. 



Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology
2 hour written examination 33.3% of A-Level grade

Paper 2: Psychology in Context.
2 hour examination 33.3% of A level grade

Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology
2 hour written examination 33.3% of A-Level grade.
