L2 Bricklaying at Trans4m

Course description

Level 2 Bricklaying is ideal if you have some knowledge and basic skills in bricklaying, this course gives you the opportunity to learn, develop and practice the specific skills required to enter a career in the bricklaying industry. Whilst on the course you will develop the following specific skills:

  • Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures
  • Producing thin joint masonry and masonry cladding
  • Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers
  • Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures

Course content

To achieve the Level 2 diploma you need to complete 6 units as follows:

Health, safety and welfare in construction

Principles of building construction, information and communication

Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers

Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures

Producing thin joint masonary and masonary cladding

Entry requirements

We generally require a level 1 in construction, Maths and English.

Assessment

Each unit is assessed by a multiple choice test covering knowledge outcomes and by practical assignment covering performance outcome.

Financial information

Learners may be eligible to apply for a £40 per week bursary dependent upon household income.
