Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Grantham College
Students will study the BTEC Level 3 Subsidary Diploma in Year 1 (1 A level) and upon successful completion of this will progress to the BTEC Level 3 Diploma which is equivalent to 2 A-Levels, allowing you when you have finished the course to either get a job or go directly into higher education.
The subjects covered will focus on particular aspects of employment within the sector, providing you with the underpinning knowledge needed, as well as developing your practical skills.
Subjects covered include:
- Customer Services in Travel and Tourism
- Holiday Representatives
- Investgating Travel and Tourism UK Destinations
- European Destinations Long Haul Destinations
As well as these subjects, you will be required to continue to study English & maths as part of your course, if you have not achieved a grade C or above at GCSE
Equivalent to one A level this course will provide an introduction to the study of the travel and tourism sector. It gives entrants to the sector the underpinning knowledge and skills needed to meet industry and higher education requirements.
Entrants can progress to Higher education when taken as part of a programme of study including other qualifications, such as BTEC Nationals or A levels. It can also act as the ideal preparation for a range of jobs in the public or private sectors including Travel Agents, Resort Representative & Cabin Crew.
5 GCSEs (Grade C or above including maths or English) or equivalent
Assignments, task set by Pearson and written exam.
Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.
Can progress to the 2nd year course the BTEC Diploma equivalent to 2 A levels. Jobs that could follow on from this course include; travel agents, tourist information, ground staff at airports and cabin crew, resort representatives.
