Music AS/A2 at Roundwood Park School
The course is split into three areas: Performing Music (30%), Composing (30%) and Developing Musical Understanding (40%).
During the Edexcel A level Music course, you'll develop your performance skills (solo and/or ensemble), compose music, learn about harmony and build up your aural and analytical skills.
The course has been designed to engage and extend your appreciation of the diverse and dynamic heritage of music, promote spiritual and cultural development, encourage life-long learning and allow you to progress to music-related and other careers.
The Performing and Composing are submitted as coursework that are completed throughout the year and the Developing Musical Understanding is a 2 hour examination paper.
Applicants must have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C or above, with B grades in relevant subjects (including English Language at grade B) for any advanced level course, including traditional A levels, Applied A levels and Advanced Vocational Awards.
