Economics at The Joseph Rowntree School
You will study how markets work and why markets might fail. Until the global financial crisis economists were very confident that free markets were efficient, now they are not so sure! You will also study the theory of the firm and the economics of the whole economy, looking at some of the most pressing issues of today such as inflation, unemployment and the euro.
By the end of the course you should understand the economics you see and hear on the television better than the journalists who do the reporting!
No specific subjects are required but you need a minimum of 6 GCSEs at grade B or above to be successful.
