Toolmaker at Rolls-Royce
Tool room team designs and makes a variety of tools that are used in the production of turbine blades for our engines. This includes everything from wax pattern dies to fixtures and tooling. They also advise on and influence the design of tooling, both inside Rolls-Royce and with some of our suppliers.
As a Toolmaker, you'll learn a variety of skills, including designing and making dies, fixtures and gauges for turbine blade production, as well as modifying them to meet different needs. You'll also be machining and shaping a variety of materials, from metals and plastics, to wood, resins, fibreglass and fillers, so you'll learn a variety of machining and fitting skills.
