Photography Level 2 Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This one year, full-time course is suitable for those who enjoy being creative, working with technical equipment and who have a keen interest in taking photographs. This course will give you a good knowledge in areas which could include Digital Image Capture and Editing, Photography Location Techniques, Visual Recording, Photographic Media and Ideas and Concepts to help you secure a career in the industry. You will be set valuable practical assignments throughout the year which will be based in the college‚Äôs photography studio and out and about in the local community. Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs D and above and a Portfolio of Work. All places are subject to interview and the applicant bringing a portfolio produced to an appropriate standard. Applicants subject to ind/prob period

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 2 qualification e.g 5 GCSE's grade A*-C. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities

Upon completion of this course students can progress to the Level 3 in photography dependent on whether they have achieved a merit grade and reached the standard benchmark for attendance and punctuality.
