Media at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College

Course description

Through the course, students will study a
wide range of Media Texts and Topics which
reflect the media saturated society in which
we live. A wide range of opportunities exist
to explore the relationship between Media
text, institution, audience and society.
Students are encouraged throughout the
course to develop their analytical and
organisational skills, to become independent,
critical and reflective learners.

Units of study include:
- TV drama, media key concepts, case
studies
- Portfolio work - The creation of a new
music magazine (AS)
- Critical Perspectives in Media
- A2 Portfolio - music video/film trailer and
promotion pack

Entry requirements

GCSE English Language at grade C or above will normally be required.
