Course content

Information and Communication Technology:

Researching, presenting and interpreting information

Problem solving:

Explore and review problems identifying different methods of solving them, carrying out and reviewing risk assessments

Application of number:

Carry out multistage calculations; carrying out fitness assessments and reporting on the results

Improving own learning and performance:

Help set targets using information from appropriate people; take responsibility for their own learning; participaring in sport and outdoor and adventurous; reviewing performance and establish evidence of your achievements.

Entry requirements

Previous experience of sports studies is not essential. Good GCSE passes are not essential to follow this course, but students must have achieved reasonable grades (C-E) and be prepared to demonstrate self-discipline and commitment to meet the necessary deadlines for course completion.

Assessment

  • 100% Coursework
  • 3 assignments per unit

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the Subsidiary Diploma students will be able to study the Diploma in Sport which is equivalent to 1 A Level, giving students a total of 2 A Levels across the 2 years of study
