NVQ Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering at Appleby Heritage Centre

Course description

Whilst in the workshop you will be able to develop your skills as you carry out maintenance around the Centre as well as through working alongside staff on commercial contracts won by the Centre.





Course content

The NVQ is made up of a number of units that will enable you to demonstrate that you are competent in performing a number of engineering tasks.

Performing Engineering Operations (1682) - Level 3


Complying with statutory regulations

Using and Interpreting drawings

Working efficiently and effectively

OPTIONAL UNITS - three from:

Producing components using hand fitting techniques

Assembling mechanical products

Repairing and modifying mechanical assemblies


Entry requirements

T he completion of NVQ 2 or the Young Apprenticeship programme.


To gain the full NVQ you will need to complete all units. Each unit is assessed separately so that unit certificates may be awarded where necessary. Assessment is by production of a portfolio of evidence which includes diaries, photographs, observations etc.
