Hair and Media Make Up Studies at Sandwell College

Course description

This one-year course is designed for people who have an interest in working in the make-up industry.

Course content

Eight units are studied, including the art of photographic make-up, professional make-up application, body art, the art of colouring and creative hair dressing.

Entry requirements

You will need 4 or more GCSEs at Grade D or above, preferably including Maths and English, or a Level 1 Beauty qualification. You will need to attend an interview and assessment prior to being accepted on the course.

Assessment

Individual performance will be assessed practically in our state-of-the-art nail bar and by means of internal and external written assessments, oral questioning and practical skills.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of the course, you have the opportunity to progress to Level 3 courses or find employment either as a freelance make-up artist or within the cosmetics industry.
