Creative & Media at The Rushden Community College

Course description

The Creative & Media Higher Diploma (Level 2) qualification is designed for anyone who may be contemplating a career in the Creative & Media sector. It will help you gain valuable insights into the industries represented within the sector. It is a practically based applied learning programme which will help you develop a wide range of skills that will equip you to commence work in the sector or further study at Advanced level.

The aims of the programme are to: provide students with a broad background of the sector; enable students to develop the creative and artistic skills required to facilitate progress and further study; enable students to make an assessment of their own strengths, areas for development and aptitude for work in the sector; and develop students' skills to become independent learners.

Available at L2 (Higher) and L3 (Advanced)

Unit 4 - Discovering creative potential

Unit 5 - Developing a creative response

Unit 6 - Creative Teamwork

Entry requirements

You need to have a strong interest in the 'Arts' and/or wish to pursue a career Creative and Media sector, or further study at Advanced level. We are looking for 4-5 GCSE at grades C or D including at least one 'Arts' subject


Each unit will be assessed both by practical and written assignments generated through a series of industry related design briefs produced in consultation with employers from this sector
