Computing A Level at Central Foundation Boys School

Course description

This course offers you an opportunity to improve ICT capability and develop problem solving skills to equip you for use in life, and a career in ICT and/or business. You will put into practice a wide range of software and hardware to create ICT systems, solving business problems. You will study the effects of ICT in the world today and expand on your understanding of developments in technology. You will also learn to work in teams and to manage your own project.

Entry requirements

To be considered for this course as part of a full A level programme you will need an average GCSE point score of 6 (B) including a minimum of grade 6 (B) in Maths and English.

Assessment

80% examination, 20% coursework.

Future opportunities

This course is a recognised route into university and work. You will be able to follow an ICT course at university. The course is also a valuable starting point for a career in any area of ICT or business. The skills and knowledge gained on the course will be useful in a range of careers.
