Media Production BTEC Level 3 National Award at Shoeburyness High School
Students will complete research based on the Media Industry. They will be given the opportunity to improve their practical print media and screen media skills, along with gaining an insight into several areas, including Marketing, Publics Relations, Editing and Photography.
What coursework do I have to do?
Students must complete a total of six units, 3 of which are compulsory: Research Techniques for the Media Industries, Pre –Production Techniques for the Media Industries and a Production Management Project. They then must choose a further 3 units from such topics as: Film Studies, Writing and Editing Copy, Marketing, Photography, Film and Video Editing, to name a few.
5 grade Cs or above or their equivalencies including English grade 5. ICT GCSE would be desirable/useful.
What’s in the exam?
This course is not assessed by examination. Instead six units of study and coursework will be followed.
Higher National Diplomas, employment, BTEC HND, Bachelors Degree. Anyone who is interested in a career in the practical Media industries such as editing, film/TV production, games design would find this course beneficial.
Employers are increasingly looking for individuals with sophisticated practical skills in media and technology that can easily transfer to the workplace.
