Mathematics GCSE at Brooklands College
This resit course is for students who are studying for a grade C in GCSE Maths having achieved grade D in GCSE Maths in a previous attempt. Certificate evidence of grade D is a requirement.
The 30 week course follows AQA’s modular GCSE Mathematics (4360) at Foundation level.
Students must have achieved grade D in GCSE Maths in a previous attempt. Students with lower than grade D should study and successfully complete Level 2 Numeracy or Level 2 Functional Skills Maths courses, with certificate evidence needed, before progressing
to this course.
There are three written exams. The first two unit examinations are in February/March and the last one is in June.
All students will be expected to buy course books or CDs if this is the requirement of their class. All students will also need their own scientific calculator and basic maths equipment.
A C grade in GCSE Maths is a minimum entry requirement for several level 3 courses or apprenticeships within the college.
