Skills for Business Extended Certificate Level 2 at Canterbury College Not
This qualification will introduce you to the world of business and help you to develop your employability skills.
You will learn about how to promote products and services for different kinds of businesses. You will also create typical business documents such as agendas and minutes used at business meetings. As part of the study programme you will learn how to work in a team, which is a key business skill. You will run an event which not only gives you vital entrepreneurial skills but also allows you to support local charities. Finally you will explore job opportunities in the business environment and practice your interview skills in order that you can secure the kind of job you are looking for.
Four GCSEs at grade D and above (including English and Maths).
You will be continually assessed during and at the end of each unit you undertake. Your feedback will be both verbal and written, ensuring that you have the necessary guidance to complete the study programme with the best qualification grade. All tutors are practising industry professionals.
If you successfully complete the Level 2 study programme you could progress onto the Level 3 Business programme. Alternatively you could progress on to an apprenticeship in business administration or customer service.
You will spend up to three days a week in College and must also be prepared to undertake independent study to support your tutor-guided lessons. Each year we run a number of enrichment trips to different businesses. There are also opportunities to participate in European residential visits. The costs for these trips are additional and must be met by students if they wish to attend.
