Course description

Travel and Tourism BTEC is a vocationally related qualification, where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work related context. The course examines many aspects of the tourism industry. The main topics covered include:- UK Travel and Tourism Destinations the Development of Travel and Tourism in the UK, International Travel, Customer Service, The Business of Travel and Tourism

Assessment

The Diploma includes two externally assessed units which provide independently assessed units alongside the portfolio based evidence

Internal assessment - Teacher led assessment forms 75% of the marks

External Assessment – Two external papers set and marked by the exam board

Future opportunities

Level 3 vocational qualifications, such as BTEC Nationals, specifically the BTEC Level 3 in Travel and Tourism. Related academic qualifications such as GCEs, Apprenticeships
