Music Technology A level at Wolfreton School
This course will teach you how to produce a high quality multi–track recording of a known pop song using a variety of recording techniques and effects. You will also sequence material using a computer and appropriate software and develop your skills to arrange a piece of music. The course involves the study of all forms of popular music and it is not necessary to have used music technology before as IT skills are developed throughout the course. Having the ability to read music and possessing basic keyboard skills would be an advantage. The units studied are:
- Music Technology 1
- Music Technology 2
- Listening and Analysing
- Analysing and Producing
65% Coursework and 35% Controlled Assignment.
If you wish to pursue music in higher education then this course would be an asset to you. It is a desirable qualification for anyone who intends to choose a career in radio or television broadcasting and for those with multiple skills in the performing arts.
