Physical Education at Rushcliffe School

Course description

This course offers an in-depth insight into the world of sport and all its associated areas. It is a cross-curricular A Level with scientific, sociological, historical and psychological input. It can be combined with any other subject and preferences in the past have been Psychology, Biology, Sociology, History, and Design Technology.

Physical Education complements a career in many areas but especially coaching, outdoor pursuits, teaching, sports administrator, sports development officer, physiotherapist, journalist and sports psychologist. Physical Education would help with any career where interpersonal skills and leadership are required.

Studying Physical Education will provide an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their practical performance. They will be given opportunities to develop and refine independent research skills and to develop an inquisitive and analytical mind, both in relation to the theoretical concepts and to practical performance.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grade C or above including English and Maths
