Mathematics A2 at Swinton Academy

Course description

This course follows the AS course in mathematics. Students continue to study pure mathematics at a greater depth and study more complex methods of integration and differentiation as well as their applications. Students also study trigonometric functions in more detail. The applied sections of the course include both statistics and mechanics. Student progress is monitored and assessed regularly against targets which are challenging and both effort and attainment grades are recorded termly. The results in the faculty at A2 are excellent. Mathematics is the most popular choice at AS and A2. Students combine this subject with both Sciences and Arts based subjects.
