Football Academy BTEC at The John Bentley School
The Pro Soccer Academy at The John Bentley School delivers professional academy football coaching alongside an outstanding Level 3 Study Programme.
The John Bentley Pro Soccer Academy programme is different to others in that its focus is very much education first, with the football providing support for applications to universities with high performance teams.
Students accepted onto the Academy will typically take a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport, it covers in-depth aspects including training and fitness, Practical coaching, human anatomy and physiology and assessing risks.
The Pro Soccer Academy will be run by former professional and England youth international footballer Marvin Brown who has achieved his UEFA B coaching licence. Academy training will take place daily for 1 hour 45 minutes within school hours and the Academy team will play in the English Colleges/Schools League on Wednesday afternoons. They will also be entered into the English Schools Cup and play against professional academy teams, providing them with high level competition to support their training. Players demonstrating clear potential will also be nominated for English Schools trials.
You will need to have achieved five GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent, e.g. BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate to Merit or above. You will need to have successfully completed the Pro Soccer Academy football trials.
