Professional Cookery (Kitchen & Larder) Level 3 Diploma at Walsall College
The course is suitable for students who wish to focus on advanced skills enabling them to progress to specialist positions within the hospitality industry and chefs of all positions with supervisory aspects to their roles. This Level 3 Diploma is a great
stepping-stone for people wishing to enter work in the Hospitality and Catering sector.
It is split into seven units, which supply students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary across all areas of the industry. These units cover various up to date food preparation techniques, and other essential industry knowledge such as the principles of food safety supervision.
Students will develop their existing skills in a commercial environment and gain valuable hands-on experience serving members of the public in our commercial Restaurant.
5 GCSEs at Grades C or above including English Language and/or Maths, or successful completion of Level 2 related qualification. You will also be required to undertake initial assessment and a dexterity practical test.
Exercising skills and knowledge through practical demonstration and assignment, practical skills, written questions and on-line Gola tests. Individual practical tasks and a synoptic assignment. Four underpinning knowledge short answer tests.
On completion of this qualification candidates may progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
- General management and supervisory qualifications
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (7250)
- BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma In Hair and Beauty Management (Pearson)
