Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 at Wolfreton School

Course description

This BTEC National Extended Certificate is specially aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the health and social care sector. It is a vocational course that is equivalent to one A Level. The units studied are:

  • Human Lifespan Development
  • Working in Health and Social Care
  • Meeting Individual Needs
  • Psychological Perspectives

The BTEC Diploma, which is equivalent to two A Levels, is also available. More information about this course can be obtained from departmental staff.

58% Exam/Set Task and 42% Coursework.

      The Consortium is a collaborative Sixth Form partnership between three distinct East Riding Schools; Cottingham High School, Hessle High School and Wolfreton School. Our partnership started over twenty five years ago and has developed and grown into a strong, vibrant and successful offer for students to experience; something that we are extremely proud of!

      As The Consortium we work closely together, continually developing an exciting and varied range of courses that combines both new, vocational opportunities with the more traditional, long established subjects. This wide ranging offer enables our students to realise their ambitions; fulfilling their individual needs.

      The Consortium is friendly and welcoming. As a student with us you will experience new and different environments making it an ideal opportunity to make new friends. You will be treated as an individual and provided with all the support needed to help you achieve your aspirations. The quality of teaching delivered across The Consortium is of a very high standard and you can gain extra skills from our enrichment programme which also provide some light hearted fun!
