Course description

You will study topics which build upon your AS studies to broaden and deepen your knowledge and understanding of Media Forms and Conventions, Media Institutions, Media Audiences and Media Representations.

Course content

On this course you will extend your learning from the AS course to facilitate students’ progression and an opportunity to develop their practical filmmaking skills. In addition, you are able to experiment with forms of print media in their coursework. You will also gain a theoretical understanding of media texts, particularly in relation to a postmodern approach.

Entry requirements

Minimum grade D or above in AS-Level Media Studies.

Assessment

The course is split between exam and coursework (50% each).

Future opportunities

You can progress onto Higher Education courses in Film/Media etc.

There are a variety of careers to consider. These include positions in Film/Media, Journalism, Teaching and Marketing/PR industries.
