Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - Heavy Vehicle or Light Vehicle IMI Apprenticeship in FR01155 at Hull College Group
Hull College offers Apprenticeships tailor-made to suit individual needs to succeed in employment.
Typically learners will study a range of topics including Health & Safety, Service of various vehicles, Engine systems, Chassis systems, Auxiliary Electrics and Vehicle Inspections.
Hull College provides candidates with the skill set required to gain semi-skilled Motor Vehicle Technician status.
All Apprentices in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are required to successfully complete three types of qualification:
1) Competence based
2) Knowledge based
3) Transferrable skills.
The IMIAL Level 2 Diploma Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair competence qualification matches the apprentice’s job role.
The knowledge qualification is selected to allow apprentices to develop higher levels of understanding about the vehicle maintenance and repair; typically this qualification is the IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
The transferrable skills qualifications require learners to demonstrate competence in English, Mathematics and ICT which can be demonstrated through Functional/Key Skills or GCSE qualifications. Learners will study - Key Skills / Functional Skills.
- Typically 4 GCSEs D - E to include Maths, English and Science.
- Learners must be employed within a Vehicle Maintenance and Repair company willing to sponsor them through their Apprenticeship. All applicants will be individually assessed.
- Typically assessed in the workplace with a range of units that match apprentice’s job role.
There will be an additional cost to the student for boots and overalls.
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship candidates have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or other level three qualifications.
