Art and Design A level at Heathcote School & Science College

Course description

Opening your mind and letting your Imagination and flair explode into a painting, sculpture or installation. Expressing your ideas and opinions visually is a great skill. A Level Art and Design could be the beginning; from jewellery making to design engineering, the possibilities are endless.

Good marks impress, no matter what. Outstanding marks, in any subject, indicate skill; intellectual rigour; strong work ethic and a commitment to fulfilling one's potential. All of these things are desirable traits in an employee or university applicant.

We provide the means for every student to learn. Our personalised projects make it possible to use personal strengths in meaningful ways. They improve academic achievement -- enhancing test scores, attitudes, social skills, critical and creative thinking.

AS and A level Art and Design are completely separate qualifications: If a student takes AS Art and Design and then decides to take A level Art and design, the marks achieved at AS will not contribute In any way to the A level marks and grade. However, work completed and assessed as part of a student's AS Personal Investigation can form part of a student's Personal Investigation submission for A level Art and Design. Any AS work that forms part of an A level submission will be assessed at the A level standard.
