Music Technology Btec Level 3 National Diploma at Prendergast - Hilly Fields College
All BTEC Nationals provide transferable knowledge and skills that prepare learners for progression to university or other higher study either immediately or for career progression.
The transferable skills that universities value include:

BTEC learners can also benefit from opportunities for deep learning where they are able to make connections among units and select areas of interest for detailed study.
BTEC Nationals provide a vocational context in which learners can become prepared for life-long learning through:
•understanding technical terms
•using technical equipment
•preparation for assessment methods used in degrees
Students will study five mandatory units, which include the following topics:
•studio recording techniques
•Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) production
•music and sound for media
Learners choose five optional units. They cover content areas such as:
•creative synthesis and sampling
•music technology in performance
•mixing and mastering techniques
•working and developing as a production team.
A minimum of 25 points at GCSE.
