Land-based Studies Level 1 - Horse Care Diploma at Northumberland College
This course is for anyone who would like an introduction to the agriculture industry. It is suitable for pre-16s, school leavers, or adults looking for either progression or a change in career.
You will study safe working practices, assisting with preparation for exercise, animal health and wellbeing, handling and restraint, maintaining accommodation and feed and water.
You will need to have a standard of general education and competence, sufficient to benefit from and succeed on the course, but no formal qualifications are necessary. Assessment of suitability is likely to be based upon interview.
Your progress will be assessed by a multiple choice test, externally set by a portfolio of evidence.
After completing the course you could progress into employment, or onto a level 2 qualification.
