Course description

Apprenticeships in Light & Heavy Vehicle Paint Refinishing/Spraying

Course content

The Vehicle Painter's job is to obtain that finish with the increasingly sophisticated equipment and paints in use today.  No two jobs are ever the same and a skilled person will normally have to deal with every vehicle and type.  You will learn how to mask, prepare, prime and paint.

Entry requirements

GCSE Grades A-C in English, Maths and ICT are preferred.

Good eye for detail and an aptitude for shape feel and colour.

Assessment

All on the job training delivered in the workplace and assessments carried out by a GTA workplace assessor every 5-6 weeks

All off the job training (technical certificate and key skills) are delivered on a day release basis by local Colleges of Further Education.

Future opportunities

Learners are employed status. Progression from Level 2 to Advanced Apprenticeship level 3.

Some companies offer further paint courses.
