Maths Statistics at Trinity Academy
Below you will find some information regarding the A-Level Statistics course. Please note that there are some entry requirements for this course.
This A-Level course involves six units relating to Statistics which will help you to develop key skills. These include:
Develop understanding of Statistics
Extend your range of statistical knowledge, skills and knowledge
Recognise how situations may be represented statistically, and understand the relationship between real world problems and statistical models
Use statistics as an effective means of communication.
Students wishing to access this course are required to hold 5 A* - C GCSE grades including Maths and English including a B in Maths.
Each of the six modules has a 90 minute examination. There is no coursework involved with this A-Level. All of the six units are of equal value. You will also have the opportunity to attend Maths inspiration trips outside of the academy to explore this fascinating
To succeed at this course you need to enjoy working with numbers and problem solving. You will need the ability to set hypotheses, carry out tests and experiments and collect and interpret data to arrive at conclusions.
Statistics involves high-level number and writing skills, and you need to develop your skills in these areas in order to analyse and arrive to conclusions about data.
