Course elements could include:
Working from a range of stimuli to devise practical work
Shaping and rehearsing work to perform to an audience
Refining material for performance
Keeping a reflective log book to record the creative journey and evaluate your work
Working well as a member of a group, sharing ideas and exploring these practically
Considering how to use physical acting and movement skills to communicate themes to an audience
Watching a range of professional work and analyse this to improve your own performance and devising skills
Integrating performance disciplines (i.e. Singing, Acting, Dancing)

At the end of the course you will receive one overall grade; Pass, Merit or Distinction. This grade will be based upon the overall body of work presented in your portfolio of evidence. There are no formal examinations.
This BTEC is equivalent in size to one A Level. If you want to study this qualification along with A Levels you must meet the criteria for studying A Levels and achieve at least a B or equivalent in an Arts GCSE. If you want to study this qualification along with two more BTECS you need to meet BTEC entry criteria and achieve at least a B or equivalent in an arts GCSE.
This course can be taken over 1 or 2 years. At the end of the first year you can complete the BTEC Certificate, equivalent to AS level, and then progress to the Extended Certificate, equivalent to an A level, in Year 2. It provides an opportunity to develop real work skills in dance, acting and musical theatre which could help you gain access to Higher Education/Specialist Institutions, and will also prepare you well for working in the industry.
