Skills for Health and Social Care L2 Diploma at Bishop Auckland College

Course description

Diplomas are highly regarded within the care industry, this course in developing skills for childcare will have you working towards gaining 37 credits through a variety of units, with two different placement experiences to support your theory work.

Course content

You will develop an understanding of working with children, young people, adults and the elderly. You will be studying communication skills, equality and diversity, health and safety as well as a range of other specialised topics in the care field. You will also attend placement two days per week to gain practical experience of working with different service users.

Future opportunities

The course will give you essential skills and attitudes required to become an effective carer. You will also be working towards functional skills or GCSE qualifications (English and Maths).


What can I do when I finish?

Progression to Level 3 in Health and Social Care or to Level 2 Childcare. You could also apply for an apprenticeship within the sector or gain employment within a care setting.
