Mathematics A - GCSE at Bonus Pastor Catholic College

Course description

Students entering Year 10 follow a pathway that is based on their prior attainment at KS3 and those students choosing this course have historically achieved a high pass rate at A*-C. Students work individually as well as in pairs, and their work is monitored and assessed regularly. The course covers a wide range of mathematical knowledge and skills such as: Algebra Shape, space and measures Data handling Applying mathematics to problem solving The Department also offers enrichment activities at KS4 including Master Classes and participation in the GCSE Maths Conference.

Future opportunities

With further training, you could go into a job related to mathematics such as an Accountant, Finance Clerk, Teacher or Payroll Officer or you could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer. You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Mathematics or Statistics or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification.
