Design: Textiles A level at The Ecclesbourne School

Course description

If you are creative and innovative and have a real interest in garment production, then Textiles is a good A level for you. The course is a mixture of coursework and written exam. We take a gradual and well monitored approach to the production of coursework, to ensure that workload is manageable. Taking this subject along
with Art or any other subject does not present a problem in terms of workload. Our students receive excellent support and encouragement throughout their studies. Past results are excellent. Study trips in the UK or abroad will enhance this experience.
In each year of the course there is a coursework unit worth 25% of the marks of the whole A level. It consists of a product made by the student and a portfolio. There is one written exam in each year, worth 25% of the marks of the whole A level. Students are free to choose to study any aspect of Textiles, whether it is fashion,
interiors, outdoor products or any other product made using Textiles.
