Uniformed Public Services Level 2 Diploma at Bridgwater College
This programme is designed for those of you seriously considering employment within a Uniformed Public or Emergency Service. Personal and social development is a key part of the programme. A student centred strategy is used throughout the theoretical and practical activities. Close links with potential employers are an additional feature of the programme.
The programme is divided into units of study delivered over a one year period in a trimester format. To achieve the Level 2 Diploma, you must successfully complete all units.

You will need at least five GCSEs in the C - E range, with at least one grade C, or an appropriate level 1 qualification, together with high levels of motivation and an interest in public services, together with a willingness to take part in a variety of practical activities.
All learners on the programme are monitored and assessed throughout the course to ensure they achieve as high a level as possible. Please note that a large number of the public/emergency services organisations require applicants to be clear of the symptoms of asthma for successful application.
Assessment is continued throughout this one year long course and is achieved via set assignments that include:
- Written work
- Group or individual practical’s
- Extended evidence workbooks and logbooks
- Online Assessment (There is no online assessment) Witness Testimony instead
Submitted work is graded as pass, merit or distinction.
Progress to the Public Services BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, alternative Level 2 or 3 courses or seek employment in a wide range of related occupations.
