Biology and Human Biology - AS / A level at Culford School

Course description

In the first year you will develop a good understanding of biological principles, including the social and ethical issues associated with some topics. Some of the more `difficult` topics are covered in the second year where there is more emphasis in the written examinations on analysis and evaluation, application of knowledge and bringing together your biological knowledge and understanding.

Course content

AS - 3 units - molecules and cells, making use of biology and coursework

A2 - 3 units - inheritance, evolution and ecosystems, physiology and the environment, synoptic paper and coursework

Entry requirements

 Grade BB in GCSE Double Award Science or the equivalent in GCSE biology
