Course description

The Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail will introduce the basic principles, skills, techniques and attributes required to be employed within Fashion Retail Management or for progression into Higher Education.

Course content

Team Management Skills Planning and Developing Ranges Designing Visual Merchandising Displays ?In-Store Visual Merchandising Fashion Promotional Activities Personal Shopping and Style In addition English and Maths will be developed and assessed

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this course you must possess a Level 2 qualification, four or more GCSE’s at Grade C or above, to include English (or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the College). You must also undertake a successful interview and provide a satisfactory reference and be able to demonstrate a minimum of six months’ work experience in a fashion retail store. Some experience of using a computer would be advantageous "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."


Subject knowledge will be assessed by a variety of methods some of which include
- written assignments,
- PowerPoint presentations,
- discussion,
- Sketchbook development,
- Mood boards,
- Presentations and oral questioning which will be collated into a portfolio of evidence.
- An individual final major project will be chosen by the student and lecturer English and Maths at Level 2 will also be part of the study programme.

Future opportunities

Employment onto a management training programme within a Fashion Retail Company and progression into Higher Education studies related to Fashion Retail is also an option.
