Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 at Stratford-upon-Avon College
Our Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering is aimed at learners who wish to develop their career within the Engineering and Manufacturing industry. Our Apprenticeship in this subject covers a wide range of subjects, such as electrical and electronic engineering, fabrication and welding engineering, maintenance engineering and mechanical engineering.
This course will equip all learners with advanced knowledge, experience and skills required to be involved in a range of complex engineering processes. Our apprenticeship will cover many knowledge and competency elements used in today’s economy such as health and safety, organisational efficiency and improvement techniques, computer aided design, testing and commissioning, complex engineering maintenance techniques, advanced engineering design processes, milling and turning.
This Apprenticeship Framework consists of the following components:
NVQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering
Technical Certificate Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
*Functional Skills Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in English and Level 2 in ICT
Other Certificate in Employment, Rights and Responsibilities
*Functional Skills are only applicable to learners who have not already achieved GCSE grade A-C in English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent).
To achieve the NVQ element of this course, you will be required to complete a series of units which are then assessed, in conjunction with observations in the workplace, to ensure you are able to demonstrate practical skills and knowledge. We also offer learners the opportunity to, once a week, participate in a skills class where you can extend your learning of knowledge and skills.
To achieve the Technical Certificate and Functional Skill components, you will be required to undergo a series of formal tests. All knowledge to achieve these components will be gained alongside the NVQ. Testing will commence at College and you may be required to attend Functional Skill session at College.
- It is advised that candidates should have already achieved no less than a GCSE Grade E in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
