Business Intermediate Diploma at Newham College of Further Education

Course description

This course offers a great introduction to the world of business. You will learn in greater depth and detail to that taught at level 1. You will also build on your study and personal skills. GCSE-Retakes. You will be retaking your GCSE Maths and English, if you did not achieve Grade C in any of these subjects, as part of your course to enable you to progress onto Level-3 qualifications. Work Experience opportunity As part of the programme you will conduct a two week work placement in a Business and Enterprise organisation/field of your choice. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. There will also be some opportunities of international work experience in Paris. Enrichment Activities A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are lectures by guest speakers from the industry, sharing their knowledge and experience with you. Visits to various multi-national enterprises in London.

You will have an opportunity to participate in Global Entrepreneur week where you will be able to pitch your business idea to business professionals/entrepreneurs. I - Learning Sessions This is additional time embedded in your programme for your study to promote independent learning. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research. Support Tutorials Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course and provide you with professional guidance and support throughout the course. Personal Learning Plan Sessions A course tutor will be allocated to you on the programme. Your course tutor will be working with you to set realistic targets that will enable you to achieve your goals. Your targets will be monitored weekly by your tutor and yourself and actions plans and support put in place to assist you in achieving your targets.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D, including Maths and English.

Financial information

The Home fee is £993 (Plus £105 Exam Fee). This Course is Free for 16-18 Home Students. In some instances a course may be free - please refer to the What do I Need to Pay screen for more information.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of the Diploma, you will be able to Progress to vocational qualifications such as the BTEC Edexcel Level 3 Diploma.
