Psychology at Hele's School

Course description


Throughout both AS and A2 elements of the course, students will be developing their understanding of a range of psychological theories and methods.

During year 12 they will deepen their understanding of key issues in relation to:

* Cognition
* Models of Memory
* Attachment
* Stress as a bodily response
* Social Influence and Abnormality or individual differences.

In year 13 the focus will be on:

* Biological rhythms and sleep
* Gender
* Aggression
* Depression
* Addiction
* Psychological Research
* Scientific Method.

Students will also be using theories, models and ideas to develop and modify scientific explanations.

Entry requirements

At least 5 GCSE’s Grade A*to C to include at least Grade B in English and Maths.
