Health & Social Care Apprenticeship - Level 2 at Redcar & Cleveland College
This framework has been designed to enable you and your employer to work together on the delivery of an individual training programme which will ensure that the relevant occupational and industry specific skills are acquired. You will be in a job role which gives you the opportunity to develop specific skills and experience for the area of care you hope to progress in.
You will be required to have a contract of Employment; minimum of 30 hours.
The Health and Social Care Framework consists of:
Competence Based Element
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
Knowledge Based Element
- Certificate in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care (Level 2).
- Award in Employment Responsibilities & Rights in Health, Social Care & Young People’s Settings
- Personal Learning & Thinking Skills The choice of Competence based and Knowledge elements to be studied will be decided in partnership with you, your employer and tutor taking into consideration your skills and place/
To qualify for the Apprenticeship you must secure suitable employment in the area of Health and Social Care, which will enable you to achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will also need a reasonably good standard of education, including literacy and numeracy, preferably with GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics.
Most of our apprentices continue to be employed at the end of the apprenticeship. There are good opportunities for selfemployment or perhaps progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
