Film Studies A Level at Stationers Crown Woods Academy

Course description

Someone who enjoys film and are critically minded. You are interested in how films communicate information and how they influence lives. You are able to be creative and formulate your own ideas for films. You can reflect on what you have done and realise strengths and weaknesses.

Course content

Exploring Film Form: the study of film sequences focusing on film techniques such as editing, camera work and sound. Creative work includes screenplay writing, storyboard development. British and American Film: study of the film industry and the production, distribution and exhibition of films, understanding British cinema, its values and messages.

Entry requirements

GCSE Media Studies, at least grade B. GCSE English A grade if you have not studied Media.

Journalist, Film editor, Script Writer, Director, Advertiser, Publisher, Designer, Broadcaster, Web Programmer, Sound Producer.
