Course description

Your career doesn't have to stop at the Advanced Apprenticeship, if you want to go on to University you will find many institutes of Higher Education value your skills and knowledge and will happily offer you a place on a Foundation Degree or other higher level qualifications.

This Apprenticeship covers a wide range of job roles in the health care and social care fields. Social care is about helping people with a particular need, such as the disabledor the elderly. You should be interested in working with youngpeople or adults. The health care sector in the UK employsapproximately two million people, equating to about 7% of the workforce. The public sector (including NHS trust/healthauthority) accounts for 73% of employment in the UK’s health sector, whilst 21% are employed in the private sector.

The remaining workforce is employed in local authorities and other organisations. As an apprentice in Health Care, you could work in hospitals, the community, doctors’surgeries, hospices, private clinics or opticians.
