IT Application Specialists Apprenticeship (Level 2 Intermediate and Level 3 Advanced) at Blackburn College

Course description

Our IT Application Specialists and IT User Apprenticeships provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively and efficiently with IT systems, communication and productivity tools and software applications.

Course content

  • Understanding the potential of IT
  • Developing personal and team effectiveness using IT
  • Improving productivity using IT
  • Using IT to find and exchange information
  • Using IT productivity tools and applications.

Entry requirements

Minimum Grade D in English and Maths at GCSE. You will have an initial assessment when you come in for an interview, and this will show the level of English and maths qualifications, known as functional skills, that you will study alongside your apprenticeship.

Blackburn College will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible. However we always advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to be actively seeking employment for themselves too.

Future opportunities

The Intermediate Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship. On successful completion of the Apprenticeship natural progression would be to a higher level course or promotion within your employment to give you a broader range and quality of skills and understanding of the industry and its requirements.
