Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Sports Development and Coaching) at The Chase School

Course description

Students investigate the breadth of the sport and leisure industry enabling them to make informed choices regarding their future employment or further study. The course allows students to access the knowledge, understanding and skills for further study such as BTEC Higher Nationals or Degree courses.

The vocational and practical approach to the study of sport and fitness covers twelve of the following units:
* Principles of Anatomy and Physiology
* The Physiology of fitness
* Assessing risk in sport
* Fitness training and programming
* Sports Coaching
* Sports Development
* Fitness testing for sport and exercise
* Practical team sports
* Sports Nutrition
* Current issues in sport
* Rules and Regulations
* Leadership in sport
* Exercise, health and lifestyle
* Sports Injuries

Entry requirements

To be accepted on the course students need to have 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
