AS/A2 Levels: Drama and Theatre Studies at Hind Leys College (Iveshead School)
The Drama and Theatre course combines practical dramatic work with theoretical explorations of texts and theatre practitioners.
There are three components in the full A Level course. Component One involves a devised group performance, for which students may be a performer or technical contributor. In Component Two, students again have the choice of performing or technically assisting in a lengthy play extract, as well as a monologue or duologue. Finally, Component Three is an exam which involves the study of a set text and chosen practitioner and a response to a live theatre performance. There will be theatre trips during the course and students are also encouraged to independently see as much live theatre as possible.
