Chemistry at Magnus Church of England Academy

Course description

Chemistry has a massive impact on today’s modern society and this course will give students a deeper understanding of the role chemistry plays. Essentially, Chemistry is the study of the elements and their compounds. However, it is not only a theoretical subject, but one which enables us to understand how we can take raw materials from the world around us and turn it into products which help to satisfy our everyday needs: plastics, medicines, fertilizers, fabrics, dyes, to name a few.

Entry requirements

Practical work is an important part of the course and students with an interest in developing their knowledge and with a grade C or above in GCSE Chemistry, would be ideal candidates.
